What Photos Should You Send for a Leather Repair Estimate?

Clear photos help us understand the damage and discuss possible next steps before an appointment. You don't need professional photography — ordinary phone pictures are a useful starting point.

A photo review provides an initial assessment. Some details may still need an in-person inspection.

Start with the entire piece

Take one photo showing the whole chair, sofa, loveseat, or other item. Include the arms, back, and seating area where possible. This gives us context for the size, construction, and location of the damage.

Show the damage from two distances

Send a close-up of the problem and another picture taken slightly farther back. The close-up shows detail; the wider picture shows how the affected area fits into the furniture.

Use good natural light when possible. Avoid filters, and check that the image is in focus.

Include a material label if available

A manufacturer or material label may help identify the upholstery. Photograph it if you can reach it safely. You do not need to turn over heavy furniture or disassemble anything.

Add a few useful details

Tell us your ZIP code, the type of furniture, what happened, and approximately how large the damaged area is. Mention any previous repairs or products applied to that area.

Avoid including personal paperwork or other sensitive information in your photos.
